How do I activate my ClinCard?

Your ClinCard is already activated when our study team hands it to you! All you need to do after you receive the card is sign the back of it, and then you are ready to start using it for online purchases or by selecting the “credit” option in stores. For ATM use, or to use the “debit” option in stores, you will first need to create a PIN.

Where can I use my ClinCard?

  1. In-Store Purchases (by selecting either the “Credit” or “Debit” options -- "Debit" option requires setting up a PIN first)

  2. Online Purchases

  3. ATM for cashing out (requires setting up a PIN first) (fees vary based on location)

  4. Cash Advance at a MasterCard member bank (MC banks closest to you can be found here)

How do I set a PIN?

  1. Call Greenhire Customer Service 1-866-952-3795 and follow the automated prompts

  2. Press 1 for "English" or press 2 for "Spanish"

  3. Press 2 "to activate the card and for account information"

  4. Enter the 16-digit card number (found on the front of your card), followed by the "#" sign

  5. Enter the 3-digit security code (found on the back of your card), followed by the "#" sign

  6. Enter the 4-digit PIN you would like to have for your card, followed by the "#" sign

  7. Re-enter the 4-digit PIN for confirmation, followed by the "#" sign

How do I check my available balance?

  1. By Phone 
    a. ​ Call Greenhire Customer Service 1-866-952-3795 and follow the automated prompts
    b. Press 2 "to activate the card and for account information"
    c. 
    Enter the 16-digit card number (found on the front of your card), followed by the "#" sign
    d. 
    Enter your 4-digit PIN, followed by the "#" sign
    e. 
    Your available balance will be read to you

  2. Online
    a. Navigate to www.myclincard.com
    b. Click on "Register Account"
    c. Enter the 16-digit card number (found on the front of your card)
    d. Enter your email address
    e. Create a username and password
    f. Click "Register Account"

    g. Check your card's available balance on the main dashboard

  3. Through an ATM
    a. Enter your PIN
    b. Click the option to check your card's available balance

  4. Ask your research study team (us!)
    a. Email us at babybeesnyc@nyulangone.org
    b. Ask at your next study visit!

Are there any fees when using my ClinCard?

  • There are no fees for

    • Using the ClinCard​ for online & in-store purchases

    • Cashing out the card at a major bank

    • Using the automated phone system or calling customer service

  • There are fees for

    • ATM withdrawals

    • Requesting paper statements (instead, check your balance for free through the ways mentioned above)

    • Requesting a replacement card through contacting Greenphire Customer Service (instead, email our study team and we can replace your card at no charge)

    • Not using the card for more than 3 months. If you do notice an inactivity fee on your card, ​call Greenphire Customer Service 1-866-952-3795 to have this reversed.

What if the purchase cost is more than the balance on the ClinCard?

The card will be declined if the amount of purchase is for more than what's the balance of the ClinCard. Please let the cashier know what amount of the purchase you would like to be paid for through the ClinCard to avoid this.

What should I do if my ClinCard is lost, stolen, or damaged?

Email our study team and we can provide you with a replacement ClinCard at no charge!
